We flew into LAX. Long Beach is still our favorite airport, but it was a lot more expensive. i do love the jetson like thing in the middle of LAX.
We never managed to make it to the Getty museum in the three years we lived there, so we finally decided to do it on this trip. Had lunch there - tool an architecture tour and played in the kids areas. looked at a little art, but mostly went for the buildings and the views - impressive. the kids even liked most of it - got to take a train up the hill to get to it.
Went down to Long Beach to see our old neighborhood. We didn't take pictures of our old house because some people were hanging around, but took some pictures of kaitlyn at the church next door where her favorite thing to do when she was 1 was run up and down the ramp!
can't miss out on Chen's if we are in LA. They even had a surly teenager prepping vegetables! couldn't be the same one, but the guy who seated us was about the right age for it to have been him doing the veggies when we lived there.
had to go put our toes in the ocean.
Matt and I visisted the hotel pool, then he insisted on sleeping in the closet on the first night.
