christmas

kaitlyn and matt thoroughly enjoyed christmas! we had a white chrismtas here and got to have grandma over and go to grandpa's house and see all the aunts, uncles and cousins and go to obachan's house. we got to see papa dale before christmas and will see him again next week. we finally got snow good enough to build a snowman and the kids enjoyed more sledding in the neighbor's yard. kaitlyn likes her tea set and pet shop dolls and matt like those also. matt also loves his hulk hands and punching bag!

december snow

we had many varied stages of snow over the last few days. the kids have taken advantage of it all. we made a slushman two days ago - now the snow is too dry for packing (darn, i bet the skiing is great!). kaitlyn and her friend grace had fun sledding yesterday and matt and kaitlyn went sledding this morning. kaitlyn taught matt how to make snow angels! i got pictures of all the animals (except kitten) in the snow and even one of our house all decorated and snowy!

christmas is coming!

well after multiple attempts (thank goodness for digital cameras) we managed to sort of get a christmas picture. the kids have been enjoying the outdoors even with the chill. (don't let their dress fool you - about 40 degrees). we have the chistmas lights and tree up (with all cat ornaments - live and craft variety) and are enjoying the christmas season. they enjoyed the weyerhauser party - but missed santa in the helicopter. have had two meetings with santa so far this year and aren't too sure how they feel about the jolly old elf but are otherwise happy about christmas!

seattle

the kids got to play in seattle - at greenlake - over the weekend - and tony got to eat at schultzy's!

Sharks!

both Moose (the clinic cat) and Matt dressed up as sharks this halloween - we finally got them together to get a picture of it (moose's costume is shark eating man - hence the fake arms)

Halloween!

The kids enjoyed halloween as little mermaid and the shark (thanks for the hand me down costume hayden - matt got lots of compliments!). matt was also fascinated by the fact that he could run up to people with a bag out and say please and people put candy in it! dad however has institued a fairly heavy "tax". cute as they were i didn't get any very good pics of it - oh well.

we trick or treated at a friend's house who had a mask of g.w. bush. matt's reaction was quite entertaining and repeatable - his grandpa dale will be so proud!

zoo cousins

got to have a short visit to the zoo (mostly playground) with the cousins last week. all of my pictures of hayden were blurry - probably because he was moving so much!

so-so vancouver

we had three days off together , so after kat's school friday we headed north to vancouver bc. it was a rather rough weekend unfortunately. both because we don't like crowds and everything was crowded and because kaitlyn was trying out her newfound talent for whining and matt was as usual in three hundred directions at once - or in one memorable moment - flat on his back (picture of this) at the aquarium for about 10 minutes. would scream bloody murder and become violent if attempts were made to move him so i just sat and watched that no one stepped on him until he decided to get up on his own. oh well. as far as vancouver for kids - well stanley park was great sunday probably the best day just spent playground hopping. then of course pagliacci's and hagen-daz on the ave in seattle on the way home.
