kat's play, asya, and recital pics.

back just in time for kaitlyn's play (she was a tree sprite) and she did very well. and matt managed to hold it together for most of the play!  today asya and suz visited us at the y while we were waiting for kaitlyn's recital pics.  was great to see asya (who used to babysit when tony was in kosovo but now lives in idaho).  then kaitlyn got to put on her costume (and makeup - she was very happy) and i got to use a whole pack of bobby pins and half a bottle of hairgel to get her hair into a bun (and they wore hats anyway!).

the rest of the trip was spent playing at playgrounds and dinner to a play cafe.  we headed out friday afternoon to get home in time for kaitlyn's school play.  

grandma's!

we went to grandma's in central oregon this week.  we all had a lot of fun.  on tuesday we checked out a house in redmond that mom is considering moving too (more room for all the grandkid visits) and got to see my uncle gary and aunt aloha.  matt just loved gary and in spite of the headbutts to the stomach, the feeling appeared to be mutual.  we had lots of fun in grandma's backyard and spent part of the monring in the hot tub. the kids hot-tubbed again in the pm with grandma while tony and i cought dinner (kyoto - very good) and a movie (fast and furious - also very good).  on wednesday the boys hung out and went to sonic and wal-mart (just to spite papa dale) and mom, kaitlyn and i went skiing!

later we met the boys in bend for a free day at kiddoz (indoor play place).  then home for more time in grandma's hot tub.  on thursday we went up to pony butte to family thunderegg mine.  i was quite proud of my little crv making it to the base of the cabin then we piled into gary and aloha's truck and headed up.  since mom no longer owns her business, we just played and walked and had lunch and only dug 3 buckets (instead of the usual 20+ that she would need for the business.  the cabin is still standing though with fears of ratlesnakes and hantavirus we did not go inside.  the outhouse has collapsed.  

busy week

lots of activities this week - but have to thank suz for the pics - she took great pictures!  tuesday we had fun at julie's at the lake - not quite ready for swimming (except for hamish). wednesday an easter egg hunt. thursday kaitlyn went to zoo with suz, grace and anne-marie (friend from vet school) and her boys.

seattle

i have been wanting to take the kids to seattle to the kid's museum there since i heard they had a curious george exhibit (matt loves george!).   last week we managed to go - and inspired by my friend suz, we also took the monorail and ate at beechers!  kaitlyn got a huge sugar donut and ate the whole thing - mom and grandpa were proud and we told her far far and far mor would have been proud too - it's in the genes!

hamish surgery

kaitlyn wanted to take haimsh for a walk a few days after surgery (he had two lumps removed).  i made him wear a sweatshirt - tony said he would hate it but i don't hink he minded.
