july

Busy july. on the 4th the kids once again took part in the kiddie parade along with sophia and liam. they had fun at a bbq at grandpa's then got to see their new favorite "aunite" julie and her house on lake louise to play, swing, and watch fireworks. they enjoyed it thoroughly and have already taken advantage of julie's invitation to come over anytime! it has been hot enough that the kids had their first chance to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck! matt obviously ejoyed his and appears to have healthy tonsils. thanks to my dad and his weyerhauser connections, tony got offered a last minute spot on a summit attempt for mt rainier. they made summit and he came down unscathed - just some mild sunburn and sore muscles - hopefully that is out of his system now! they had another trip to the zoo with the cousins where the meerkats were finally on display - very cute - but the new ring tailed lemur exhibit was also great. matt enjoyed a ride from uncle jeff. today they enjoyed the day at the king county fair - smaller than i remembered!

for those of you aware of matt's eating issues, thought i would throw this one in to prove that matt does eat! (by the way these were dog treats that had been given to me - i don't recommend actually feeding your dog (or your child) the discount dollar store jerky treats!)

june

kaitlyn had preschool through mid june and enjoyed a field trip to northwest trek and a water play day on the last day of school (both of which i helped with - so no pictures). we had mostly good nw weather (cool, cloudy) but a few really nice days where they played slip and slide and started our tour of tacoma's spraygrounds. they played with lots of friends - speaking of lifeguard buddies the little boy in the sprayground pic behind kaitlyn is liam - son of my friend chris that i used to lifeguard with! and her friend grace (one of my vet school clasmmates; suz - her little girl) sophia - our neighbor - and of course the cousins. we went to a rainier's game with the cousins. no good pics of matt from that since he didn't enjoy it much (must take after his mom). kaitlyn and sophia have been entertaining us with lots of shows this summer.

memorial day weekend

For memorial day weekend the kids enjoyed a visit from grandma and a trip to abby and haydens' nana and papa's house. they have lots of fun toys. some bigger kids were there to play with too. two of the boys belong to holly's cousin-in-law shelly who i recognized as soon as i saw her - she used to lifeguard with me! small world.
