Arthur

Arthur 11/18/09 - 8/11/10
I was pretty crushed last December, losing Gigabyte so soon after losing Bob. When a good friend of mine, Suz, showed me the kitten she had just adopted on Christmas Eve and she saw how good it was for me to a hold a baby cat again she gave him to me. He was really a dream kitten for me, a boy orange tabby with lots of toes - 23 to be exact. He had 5 on one front foot (normal but his thumb was prominent), 6 on the other front foot, 6 on one back foot (supposed to have 4) and 7 on the other! Kaitlyn named him Arthur but he had lots of nicknames. Stripey orange man was my favorite. At first it was difficult, he made me miss my special boys more, but I quickly grew to love him and laugh at all his funny kitten antics. He and Kitten got along well, even sharing the same bed at times. He liked to snuggle in bed with me - actually he really liked to sleep half on my neck and face. He grew into that funny gangly teenager state pretty quickly and i think he would have been a long lean kitty if he had reached adulthood. Unfortunately I diagnosed him with a rare viral/immune disease called FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) that strikes kittens and young cats and is rapidly fatal and untreatable. Despite a valiant two day effort with supportive and hospice care he rapidly declined and I had to make the decision to end his suffering. Thankfully my very good friend Suz who had blessed me with 9 wonderful months with Arthur was able to be with me and give the final injection. He was a wonderful kitty and we will always remember him.
